From the 2013 CES International Show (CES), Xtone today announced that its Xavi voice assistant platform is being used to power playback of audio headlines in the USA TODAY app that is now integrated with Ford SYNC AppLink. Visitors to Ford's booth at CES will be able to demo the USA TODAY app and listen to the playback of USA TODAY audio headlines in compatible Ford vehicles and direct the flow of the audio content using just their voices.
"USA TODAY is leading the way in mobile publishing by making its content available to drivers in an on-demand, hands-free, eyes-free mode," says Stuart R. Patterson, chief executive officer of Xtone. "Using Xtone's Conversational Media Player based on our Xavi Voice Assistant Platform, USA TODAY was able to provide an easy-to-use user interface via Ford's SYNC AppLink system in record time."
The USA TODAY app with audio headlines will be demonstrated throughout the show in Ford's booth (#2220 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center) at CES 2013. The official Ford announcement can be viewed at media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=37563.
