Taking a break from our rumor reports on a full Apple TV, or the next iPad, iPhone or some other flavor of iDevice is a new article over at the New York Times which says that in its labs, Apple is experimenting with a watch.
What the what?!?
As usual, Apple declined to comment on its plans, and the article notes that just because something is being worked on in a lab setting doesn't mean that we'll ever see it out in the wild. Here's the report though, and try not to get too exciting. "In its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., Apple is experimenting with wristwatch-like devices made of curved glass, according to people familiar with the company's explorations, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because they are not allowed to publicly discuss unreleased products. Such a watch would operate Apple's iOS platform, two people said, and stand apart from competitors based on the company's understanding of how such glass can curve around the human body."
iOS based could mean anything from a glorified iPod Nano to a device with multiple capabilities, or something like the recently released Pebble Watch.
