Former Symantec Leader Bill Robbins Joins [24]7 as Chief Operating Officer

Former Symantec Leader Bill Robbins Joins [24]7 as Chief Operating Officer

[24]7, the intuitive consumer experience company, announced today that industry veteran Bill Robbins has joined [24]7 and will assume the newly-created position of Chief Operating Officer. Robbins joins [24]7 from Symantec, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Services, a position he held from 2009 through 2012. In his role as COO at [24]7, Robbins will lead the company's strategic, sales and global operations functions, reporting directly to founder and CEO PV Kannan.

A recognized industry leader, Robbins brings more than 20 years of sales, operations and leadership experience to [24]7. With the robust global growth [24]7 has experienced, Kannan noted that the time was right to welcome an operational leader of this caliber to the executive team.

"[24]7 is experiencing dramatic growth. We need someone who has been down that road before. After an extensive search for a leader with the right experience to complement our existing team, we found that Bill is an ideal match in terms of expertise and culture," noted Kannan. "With his strong strategic sales, enterprise expertise, and market-tested leadership abilities, Bill will help [24]7 to navigate through continued growth and global expansion. He will help fulfill our mission to make the customer experience intuitive."

Prior to serving as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Services with Symantec, Robbins served in multiple executive positions with the company in Asia and the United States. Earlier, Robbins held leadership roles as the head of sales and operations organizations within Veritas, prior to that company's acquisition by Symantec.

"Bill was an important leader during my time at Symantec and will be a strong addition to the [24]7 team," said John W. Thompson, former Chairman and CEO of Symantec, and current Chairman and CEO of Virtual Instruments. "Bill's strategic and operational experience allowed him to have a huge impact on Symantec's field operations, and I'm confident he can have a similar, if not more significant, impact on [24]7's growth and direction in the years ahead."

"I am excited to join the executive team at [24]7," noted Robbins. "With the global activities and opportunities that lie ahead of us, I look forward to moving [24]7 to the next stage in its growth as we continue to redefine the entire customer service industry."

Robbins holds degrees in both Finance and Economics from Southern Methodist University.
